Making Mum's sculpture

Here's a few pics about the making of Mum's sculpture.

I love the way it developed – I simply gave it freedom to go anywhere it wanted.

The design started out symmetrical, and I considered subtle changes either the top or bottom but decided against that when I saw the way it flowed.

I started working on a low bench – but after a day my back was killing me, so I moved it to a height where I was standing straight.

I wanted the back to be as much a feature as the front, the korus were incredibly simple but really lifted the back.
