The making of a memorial

Here you can view the process of making this beautiful memorial and read the story and inspiration behind the design.

Halayna and her siblings wanted to present their mum and dad a sculpture for Christmas.

After considering sculptures we had available she asked if we could produce a sculpture based on her own design (a sketch on a 3 inch piece of paper) before Christmas. She sketched a beautiful koru design that reflected their parents, the four children sitting on a base with a pattern that represents current and future mokopuna.

I wasn't sure whether be able to achieve her smaller design elements but they came out great in the end.
